Right after stuffing our faces on Thanksgiving night with delicious food, we packed our bags and headed for a mini tropical vacation.
We flew very early the next day and arrived to a slightly gloomy Cabo, Mexico. The thick clouds were starting to move away, showing us glimpses of a magical, and almost fiery, sunset.
We arrived at the Riu Palace Hotel & Resort and immediately headed to the bar for some cold & delicious cocktails. Being an all inclusive hotel, the cocktails kept coming all night long.
A few drinks later, we stopped shortly to eat .The buffet had a different theme every night. From seafood, to asian fusion the chefs made sure every night is special.
There was even Bloody Mary shots garnished with shrimps.
The food looked mouthwatering, we couldn’t resist trying almost everything. Dinner done, we continued our night having fun at one of the many hotel bars.
Many shots, cocktails and laughs later, we decided to head back to our room and disappeared under the covers for the night.
For the next two days we had the same routine. We’d wake up late, as you should do on a vacation. Then we’d quickly change into our bathing suits and plunge into the cool pool water. We spent our days lounging around the pool, swimming and drinking pina coladas, champagne (for me) and gin & tonic (for R) in the sun.
When it was time for lunch, we’d head again to the buffet were we filled our plates with delicious food. We had a stunning view each day with our meal. Tall palm trees and the pacific ocean ahead of us… it doesn’t get any better.
At night, after we have dinner, we would catch the daily show with drinks in our hands (yes, we drank a lot!).
From Chicago, to the Lion King, to a Micheal Jackson tribute and much more, each night was fun and entertaining.
