A Glowing Complexion – HOURGLASS Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder

One thing we all want, besides eating all we can without gaining weight, is beautifully radiant complexion. No matter what skin type we have, we all want that youthful glow. If you don’t know how to achieve that, don’t worry I’ve got you covered!

Yes, makeup helps you achieve that look, but what’s more important is maintaining healthy skin. Find a skin care routine that works for you and stick to it. And for the love of God, don’t go to bed with makeup on!

DSC02911If your skin is looking dull, exfoliate! When you exfoliate your skin, you’re removing all those dead skin cells, allowing new ones to come to surface! However, I don’t recommend exfoliating more than twice a week, and would stick to even less if you have sensitive skin.

Use either a brightening toner or an all-natural apple cider vinegar toner after thoroughly cleansing your face. Both will help your skin get it’s natural glow back.DSC02901To achieve a radiant look through make up, there are a few steps you must do. Here’s the step by step.

First of all, I like to use the Becca Shimering Skin Perfector (I have the shade Opal) under my foundation or BB cream. All you need is the tiniest amount, a little goes a long way with this product. Even if you use a matte foundation on top of it, your skin will look fresh!DSC02915If you don’t have oily skin, I recommend using a dewy or semi dewy foundation or BB cream. Matte products will make your skin look older and drier than it is. You can always add a drop of beauty oil to a foundation to make it more dewy.DSC02912After applying your foundation (I used the Maybelline Fit me Dewy+Smooth shade 220), there’s nothing like a natural looking highlighter to make you glow.DSC02916Hourglass just released a new line of highlighters, or as they call them “Strobe Lighting” powders. If you like your makeup natural and minimal, and find other highlighters to be “too much” these powders are for you.DSC02918I got mine in the shade “Brilliant” and like the other Hourglass ambient powders, these strobe lighting powders are almost seamless on the skin. They add a glow to your skin in the most subtle and beautiful way. The small crushed pearl particles in the powder reflect light naturally.DSC02867Even though it’s a strobing powder, you can also use it on the cheek bones as a highlighter (as I did). For a more dramatic effect use it with a wet brush, for a little va-va-voom!

If you want your skin to look a little more dewy, use your fingertips to dab a tiny amount of the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector on top of your cheek bones. It’s one of my favorite ways to get that dewy look.DSC02934
