Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream

As I’m getting older, my skin is becoming more of a priority. Although I love to splurge occasionally on makeup, it’s skincare that I invest in the most. Unlike makeup, I found that higher end brands tend to have drastically better results than those from the drugstore (even though there’s some good ones in the drugstore too).

If you follow & read my blog (if not.. umm… you should!), you probably saw that I recently reviewed two Charlotte Tilbury products, the “Luxury” eyeshadow palette & the Mini Miracle Eye Wand. Even though both didn’t impress me, I decided to give the brand another try.

My latest venture in the Charlotte Tilbury world, is the Magic Cream. It’s a heavy duty moisturizer that claims to re-plump the skin, fight the aging process, hydrate the skin and give a long lasting dewy finish.

DSC03507While I was recently in New York (check posts here, here and Vlog here), my skin didn’t adjust well to the weather change. The cold dehydrated my skin badly, (I mean really badly… hello crocodile skin!) and I needed a strong moisturizer.

The CT Magic Cream is definitely a heavy duty moisturizer. It’s extremely thick and a little goes a long way. Seriously though, the smallest drop is enough!

When applying the cream, your skin will almost instantly feel hydrated. I also noticed that it gave my skin a refreshed sensation. The Magic Cream will take a few moments to really sink into your skin, something to keep in mind if you’re using it underneath makeup. It also gives the skin a very subtle dewy finish. Because one of it’s ingredients is rose hip oil, it has a nice rose scent, nothing too overwhelming.

Does it really work though?

Yes, it does… for me at least. I noticed shocking results in just a couple of days of using it only at night. My dry and patchy skin was smoother after only a few nights of using it! My skin felt hydrated and plump, it was indeed magical. I can’t comment on it’s efficiency for fighting the aging process, because I don’t have any lines or wrinkles yet. But when it comes to hydrating and plumping skin, it definitely did it’s job beautifully.

Now that my skin is back to it’s normal state, I only use it every other night in fear of breaking out. I learned the hard way, that extremely hydrating moisturizers cause my skin to brake out if I use them too often. I also use the CT Magic Cream sometimes as a hydrating mask.

Is it worth the price tag?

If you suffer from extremely dry skin and like high end skin care, the yes it is. For $100 a pod, it does live up to it’s claims, and because you only need a little at a time, it will last a while.

If you have normal or combination skin on the other hand, then this product won’t probably be your cup of tea. I think oily skin will break out if used too often and normal skin don’t need that intense of a moisturizer. Know your skin’s needs, and treat it accordingly.

Have you used any Charlotte Tilbury skincare products? Do you like them? Let me know!

Yeah a very high price tag… but it does it job.

If it does its job, I think the price may be worth it! I spent so much money on products and they didn’t work as well! It probably added up to more than the cost of that bottle!

I totally agree with you! If I add up all the cost of the more affordable products I bought and didn’t like it’ll be for sure more than that.

I tend to use higher end skincare products versus makeup products too. $100 does seem a little pricey but if it really works, it should be worth it
