Pretty In Pink – The Coat Edition

I’m not really a “pink” kinda girl, but sometimes I make an exception. Like for this beautiful Elie Tahari coat!

The weather in California is getting warmer and the sky’s getting clearer, it already feels like Spring in here. After a lot of dark and monochrome outfits throughout winter, I’m so excited to bring back some much needed color to my wardrobe.

The old me, especially the 14 year old grunge Tamara (yeah I’ve been there), would never be caught dead wearing something like this. But as I’m getting older I’m experimenting more and more with my style. After all, fashion should be fun and experimental!

I love pieces like this pink coat from Elie Tahari, that you can wear with a pair of distressed jeans or a LBD (or LBJ!!!).  Whatever the outfit is, this coat will definitely be the center of attention guaranteed.

This coat is definitely not heavy weather material, which makes it perfect for this time of year. The crepe material is soft and warm enough for spring, but definitely not winter (maybe winter in California… ).

I particularly love the off centered front, and the very minimalistic design. Even the welted pockets seem flush with the rest of the coat.

The slick cut detail in the back gives the backside more movement and provides a more dramatic effect.

And let’s just say the oversized effect is just perfect for hide that big lunch baby!

I even wanted to push the color “boundaries” a little further with this outfit and pair the pink coat with a beautiful pair of teal pumps. The colored pumps balance the whole outfit, and make it even more spring appropriate.IMG_9132

Do you wear more eye-popping colors in spring than in winter? Or you prefer a more subtle wardrobe? Let me know!

I might be biased because I’m a huge pink fan, but I love this!

Huge fan of how you paired it with the teal shoes <3
