It’s no secret by now that I love lightweight, natural looking foundation. Heavy full coverage foundations are just not for me. Dior just launched a new foundation, the Diorskin Forever Perfect Makeup Broad Spectrum 35. It’s a medium coverage (but definitely buildable). In it’s description, it says it has a luminous matte finish, flawless correction, and exceptional comfort. It also claims to be enriched with poreless effect skin care essence, leaving your skin’s texture looking more refined with each wear.
I’ve seen a lot of beauty bloggers and vloggers raving about it, and because I haven’t tried any Dior foundations before, I decided to give this one a try. So of course, I went to the mothership aka Sephora store and bought one in the shade 031 Sand. The shade is slightly on the yellow range but once blended well done the neck, it will look natural.
The foundation comes in a gorgeous heavy weight glass bottle, which might not be the perfect thing for traveling, but I honestly love it. The bottle has a pump, which is great for keeping the product sanitized and help from any unwanted oxidation.
On my skin, the foundation does feel extremely light weight and easy to wear. Having an SPF of 35 (which is decently high), you’d think it would be thick. In fact it’s light and almost seamless. Even with only a tiny amount of product, my face looked even without masking it. You could still see some of my freckles, but small blemishes disappeared.
The DiorSkin Forever Perfect Makeup has a beautiful “blurry” effect on the skin, as you can see in the photo . It definitely looks natural, your skin but better-esque. Even though I usually prefer a dewy finish, I really liked the luminous finish of this foundation. It’s extremely flattering and natural looking. Your skin will look radiant without being dewy, perfect for oily skin types.
Even though it didn’t last the 16 hours it claimed it would , I can say, with confidence, that it is decently long wearing. After 8 long hours, the foundation still looked beautiful. It didn’t patch, slide or wear off, and you never really feel like you’re “wearing” foundation. At around 10hours though, it started to fade away specially in the T-zone area. I didn’t use primer before nor powder to set the foundation, in order to really test it.
I must admit that the Diorskin Forever Perfect Makeup foundation really impressed me. I much favor it over the YSL Touche Eclat Le Teint foundation. Even though I like dewy skin generally, I loved how this foundation gave my skin luminosity and radiance without the “oily” look.
If you’re in the market for a high end beautiful foundation, I highly recommend the DiorSkin Forever Perfcet Makeup foundation. It’s a total dream on the skin and the result is a radiant young looking skin. Make sure to get the right tone and undertone though, as there’s nothing worse than a mismatched foundation.
Let me know if you tried the DiorSkin Forever Perfect Makeup foundation or any Dior makeup before.
