As you might know by now, I have been to L.A. more than I can count on one hand. Despite all those trips, I’ve never stayed in the downtown area. DTLA, even though a little run down, has a lot to offer. If you read this post, you’ll see that we stayed in an epic Airbnb loft in the fashion district. Surrounded by some of the most fashionable people, it was the place to be for a fashion blogger like me.
Everywhere I looked, I was so inspired by people passing by, window shops and even gigantic murals! DTLA, especially the fashion district is a fashion lover’s muse!
Right in front of our loft was one of the prettiest and greenest coffee shops called, Verve. Whether you’re there for a cup of latte, a juice or to buy some Aesop products, make sure to take a sneak peak at what’s hidden in the back behind the ajar door. You’ll find desks filled with fashion sketches and lots of fabric samples from Alternative Apparel that shares office space with this coffee shop. How cool is that?
For lunch, you shouldn’t miss the opportunity to have delicious sushi at KazuNori! Only a few blocks away, it’s the original hand roll bar. You can pick between the set menus or a la carte orders, but I highly recommend going for the 6 hand roll set menu to sample everything. Rolled in front of you, the chef will make the rolls one after the other, giving you the right amount of time to savor each one! The scallop, crab and salmon rolls were definitely my favorites.
Even though it looks a little shabby, DTLA is a must see. Sadly, because I was there at a conference I didn’t have much time to explore everything it has to offer, but I’m pretty sure I’ll be staying there more in the future!
Have you ever stayed in DTLA? Let me know your favorite spots there. And as always have a fab day gorgeous people!
