I’m writing this post from an airplane on my way back from our little trip to Portland. Although a bit tired, I’m filled with so many great memories. R & I always have a blast discovering a new city and this time was no exception.
We arrived on a Saturday afternoon to beautiful weather and clear skies. We were staying at the lovely Marc Spencer hotel, conveniently located walking distance from the best restaurants and bars. Luckily, right under the hotel were some of the best spots in town!
Looking through our window, right from the bed, we could see the city. Some people like sleeping under the stars, but personally I like to overlook urban scenery. After a quick bite we rushed back to the hotel to recharge for the next day.
Being fans of Stumptown coffee for a while now, we were finally able to enjoy it at it’s origin. Seattle may be more famous for their coffees, but Portland is an underrated Java heaven!
Whenever we asked someone what we should do in Portland, the answer was always the same… Food & booze. Being foodies, we were excited to taste what Portland has to offer. Coffee in hand we walked around town exploring the city before stopping for a delicious meal at Smokehouse 21.
We sat outside, underneath a giant tree, enjoying our mellow Sunday. We purposely under ordered for once, leaving enough room for a delicious treat. You guys know how much I love Salt & Straw ice cream, aka the best ice cream in the world (read more here)! Just like Stumptown, it’s a Portland native! The flavors were even more delicious than we could remember, which is why we forgot to snap a pic. However, I did shar our experience on Instagram stories @Loveofmode_
Bellies full and eyes tired, we retreated to our comfy bed for a much needed Sunday nap. Before we knew it, it was dinner time. We had reservations at the best sushi restaurant in town, which fortunately lived up to it’s hype… But that’s a completely different post for a completely different day… Stay tuned!
