Back To School Inspired Outfit

Even though fall won’t officially start for a few more days, it’s already time for back to school. Every year now, school years seem to start sooner and sooner. I remember back in my days, school didn’t start until October. Luckily, I’m not a student anymore, but that doesn’t mean I can’t wear a back to school outfit!

Dungarees will forever remind me of when I was younger, no matter how sophisticated they might be. There’s something about them that’s very school inspired, don’t you agree?

IMG_4385Velvet is absolutely exploding in popularity this season. Not only it’s on trend right now, it’s also a great fabric for fall. Warm yet not too stuffy, a velvet dress like this one is great way to evolve into fall fashion. The warm earthy color even makes it winter appropriate. Layered with leggings and thicker sweaters and boots, it’s an all year round dress!

Off the shoulder tops made up about 2/3 of my summer wardrobe this year. Instead of tucking them away for next year, I decided to incorporate them into my fall outfits. There’s no reason why you can’t wear them in fall too! IMG_4388

Oxfords shoes are the best for a complete back to school look. Even though this particular pair isn’t the most comfortable pair to walk in, they will still make your outfit look smart. Even with a pair of skinny jeans and white shirt, oxfords can make your look more sophisticated. Just make sure to not make my mistake and get a comfy pair!

I absolutely agree with you about the dungarees! I really wanted to get a pair this summer but whenever I tried them on something in the back of my head was like “you look like a teenager” 🙂 I really love how you styled yours though! XO

Oxford shoes are seriously awesome. And I agree with you about the velvet texture, which means I need to go shopping for some, haha. Ah, don’t you just love the smell of fresh textbooks?

I am so in love with the shoes! They are so cute, too bad they are not so comfortable! I would definitely pair them with jeans and a white tshirt 🙂

Personally I hav never took notice of oxford shoes until I see this pair that you’re wearing, it’s gorgeous! Good on you for making off shoulder top work for Autumn, it’s all about being smart in layering.

I love those shoes! I am really into menswear-esque shoes: oxfords, smoking slippers…. they give a good, unexpected ‘pop’ to any outfit 🙂
