Athleisure Take Over

Thanks to some models, such as Gigi & Kendal, athleisure is taking over the fashion scene. Not that I’m complaining…You guys know that I absolutely love styling sneakers with dresses and skirts, not just gym clothes.

Athleisure though doesn’t stop with sneakers, it’s a complete style from head to toe. Think chic workout attire. Black tights, a crop top and a bomber jacket perhaps. It’s definitely not your everyday gym clothes.

Dresses such as the one I’m wearing also count as athleisure. They should be relaxed, simple and somehow remind you of athleticism.

Dark neutrals are your colors, if you’re trying to achieve this look. Grey, white and black should be your go-to’s. Navy, dark olive and deep burgundy also work. Nothing too flashy though. It’s a bit of a “too cool for school” kind of vibe. Keep the outfit simple but have fun with the accessories. This bandana scarf is a great way to add color, while still looking chill. The key is to look like you “woke up like this”.

Dress Boohoo, shoes Zara similar here, denim jacket here, backpack H&M

Athleisure style is great not only because it’s super comfy, but also because it’s easy to pull off. You don’t have to have Kendal’s abs to make it work. Wether you’re late for a class, going shopping or even brunch, athleisure is the trendy style to wear now.

Do you like this new trend? How would you wear it?

Love the athleisure trend atm, it’s so chic and comfy! And unexpected to do it as a dress, but it do works perfectly fine and definitely brings a sporty vibe! Also, love the adding of the denim jacket, feels a bit like sportswear going vintage which is a chic one! Have a lovely weekend gorgeous! Xx

I feel like this style is just so comfy, and I loe the idea of wearing trainers out instead of heels. A very chic look <3

I LOVE this look and style on you, girlie! That dress is so cute and I love the relaxed, athleisure vibe it has. It’s a style that I haven’t experimented with much and I really don’t know why! You’ve inspired me to finally try it, but first, I need a cute pair of sneaks, I only really own workout sneakers that I prefer not wearing outside of the gym. I’m debating Superstars or Creepers, the dilemma, haha! Thanks so much for the inspiration, beauty, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead!

This dress and those shoes go so great together! You definitely nailed this look. I love the athleisure look. It almost always has sort of a tomboy-ish feel too when I see Gigi or Kendall wearing it. And I love that! I really enjoy wearing leggings with long shirts, or even tying the shirts in the front. And then I love pairing my looks with some throwback Nikes or Adidas Superstars. Great look and hope you have a fantastic weekend lady. 🙂

Love the athleisure take-over and I love that whole ‘model off duty’ look that usually follows with it (and that Gigi and Kendall are absolute pro’s at!)

    Lovely post!

Definitely agree with you- this dress has what it needs to give off that athleisure vibe! I actually tried out that style this summer, and styled it just like this with a shirt around the waist too! One of my favorite ways to wear dresses. This one is super cute and looks so comfortable! I’m a big fan of this trend.
