One of the musts when visiting any part of Hawaii, is taking part of a Luau. If you’re not familiar with it, a Luau is a Hawaiian party / feast that includes traditional food and dancing.
On our final night on the island, R & I dressed up and headed to the Hilton Hotel for a night full of fun, entertainment and culture.
The host of the night did an amazing job explaining Polynesian and Hawaiian culture in an interesting way. After we sat down for drinks followed by dinner, the real entertainment began.
Dancers took center stage as they whisked us away with their moves to another universe. They interpreted Polynesia’s facisinating history through a series of different dance styles, with sheer talent.
Dressed in traditional attire, the woman were so graceful and constantly smiling, while men showed off their dominance and ruggedness. Form hula to oeta dancing, each set was more mesmerizing than the other. But the best was definitely kept for last.
The men came rushing to the stage with their flaming torches. Demanding everyone’s attention and taking our breath away.
In the darkness of the night their torches lit the space like a bright shining sun.
It was truly an unforgettable fun night. We got to know the Polynesian culture and history while being magically entertained. If you find yourself in Hawaii, make sure to take part in a Luau!
