If you thought Napa is gorgeous in the spring, then you haven’t seen it yetin the fall.
In autumn, the vines turn a beautiful medley of fiery reds & yellows. The light becomes so warm in the afternoon, that it looks like a natural filter casting it’s golden hues on the hilly scenery. Simply driving around through the vineyards is a treat by itself.
Even though reservations are highly recommended for certain wineries, R & I like to choose a little more randomly. While driving through the wineries, a certain chateau will catch our eyes. Standing beautifully between the vineyards, it invites us in… and we are unable to resist…
So we stop and hope they can take us in for a tasting. Sometimes we aren’t that lucky, but other times we discovered some underrated gems.
This time though we got lucky…
