Back To basics – My Favorite Nude Lip Product

I don’t know about you, but I’m really feeling the nude lips fad again. Unlike the early 2000’s, nude lipstick nowadays is sophisticated and classy.

LOM Nude lipstick

Although I’m a red lips girl, over the past year I’ve been more adventurous with my lip colors. From browns to your lips but better shades and even my recent gothic dark lips, it’s been a thrill to switch things up. My latest obsession though has been a nude pout.

LOM Nude lipstick

Inspired from the lovely blogger babes Lydia and Victoria, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect nude for my skin tones. When it comes to nude lipstick, the key is to find a shade that won’t wash you out. It has to look either a tad darker or a tad lighter than your actual skin. Or else, your lips will disappear and merge as one with the rest of your face.

Also, icy nudes are not the way to go. Choose a warmer shade, something a little more golden.

The beauty of nude lipstick is that you can layer them up on top of other colors. From rich browns to even reds, adding a beige color on top will lighten the color and create a whole new look.

The Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Liquid Lip Crème in shade Fawn Over Me has definitely been my go to lately.

During the day, I like to layer it up with a pinkish lipstick underneath. At night when I’m wearing a more dramatic eye makeup, I wear it alone, to make sure all the attention is on the eyes.

Having you been embracing nude lipsticks lately? Tell me about it.

I love the look of nude lips on other people but I hate it on myself! I think I just need to find the right shade for my skintone! Definitely checking out this line by Marc Jacobs–you look gorg!

You can create your very own shade by layering them. Give it a try!

This nude lip colour looks so pretty on you. I wish I could wear a nude lip but it washes me out so have to stick to pale pink or brighter colours.

This nude lipstick looks great on you! I usually wear red lipstick in different shades, mostly berry like shades. I always feel like, when I wear lipstick I have to wear real lipstick (meaning red one 😀 )

I wish Marc Jacobs wasn’t so expensive otherwise I would be fawning all over this shade (bad joke . . . sorry). This is stunning! Want it so bad, thanks for sharing. You are gorgeous xxx

You are so gorgeous! This lip color looks amazing on you. I tend to look washed out in nude colors but I actually have a similar complexion and haircolor to you and seeing how you look amazing in this lip color, I definitely think I need to try it out. Maybe I’ve just been using the wrong shades!

Hahah gosh, so true that nude lips were cringeworthy last time they were trendy! But damn, you make them look so elegant and classic. This post got me wanting to try them again actually! Have a lovely weekend babe! Xx

This is a very beautiful shade. Unfortunately I already have a pale lip color and these nudes don’t get along with my lip color at all. I am like you, a red lipstick woman.

The Marc Jacobs nude shade looks lovely with your skin tone. I’m lusting after the Clinique Nude Pop at the moment – love nude shades. Lydia always looks amazing with the deep red shades, so I might have to be a bit more daring and give them a go.

I love nude lipsticks, but I prefer darker shades and a bit more glossy. Nude matt lipsticks are not my thing..
This one looks great on you and also I love the photos!

I think that it really suits you though I tend to like a bit more colour for myself. Makes sense though if you’re doing a smoky eye to keep the lips neutral
