I don’t know about you, but I’m really feeling the nude lips fad again. Unlike the early 2000’s, nude lipstick nowadays is sophisticated and classy.
Although I’m a red lips girl, over the past year I’ve been more adventurous with my lip colors. From browns to your lips but better shades and even my recent gothic dark lips, it’s been a thrill to switch things up. My latest obsession though has been a nude pout.
Inspired from the lovely blogger babes Lydia and Victoria, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect nude for my skin tones. When it comes to nude lipstick, the key is to find a shade that won’t wash you out. It has to look either a tad darker or a tad lighter than your actual skin. Or else, your lips will disappear and merge as one with the rest of your face.
Also, icy nudes are not the way to go. Choose a warmer shade, something a little more golden.
The beauty of nude lipstick is that you can layer them up on top of other colors. From rich browns to even reds, adding a beige color on top will lighten the color and create a whole new look.
The Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Liquid Lip Crème in shade Fawn Over Me has definitely been my go to lately.
During the day, I like to layer it up with a pinkish lipstick underneath. At night when I’m wearing a more dramatic eye makeup, I wear it alone, to make sure all the attention is on the eyes.
Having you been embracing nude lipsticks lately? Tell me about it.
