Get A Fresh Face With The New Maybelline Dream Cushion Foundation

Maybelline is definitely my favorite drugstore brand for makeup basics. In particular, the “Fit Me” range, is my absolute number one pick. The Fit Me Matte and Dew foundations are the only two drugstore foundations I use and love. When I saw that Maybelline has jumped on the cushion foundation bandwagon, I was definitely intrigued!

The packaging is almost identical to every other cushion foundation out there. It comes with a sponge and mirror for easy on the go application. You can also apply it with any other sponge or even a brush. Personally, I like the quickness and ease of use of the included sponge. At Walgreens, Target or other drugstores it retails for $12.99, while at Ulta it’s available for $15.99.

As for the actual foundation, it gives a light to medium(ish) coverage. With a single layer, it looks like more like a tinted moisturizer. If you layer it up for more coverage, it will mask minor blemishes but won’t hide any severe discolorations or freckles. It’s recommended that you apply it by patting it onto the skin using a downward motion. Start from the middle of your face and work outwards. As it claims, it gives you a luminous radiant finish. If you have oily or combo skin or find it too dewy, you can always powder your face to make it more matte.

This is definitely an everyday foundation, to replace a tinted moisturizer or BB/CC creams. It won’t last the whole day but it good for 5-6 hours, and because it’s so compact, you can reapply on the go. All in all, I really like the new Maybelline Dream cushion foundation and would highly recommend it.

Have you tried the Maybelline Dream cushion foundation, and if so do you like it or not really? Let me know!

XoXo,

Tamara

I am actually really curious about this one as it is supposed to be a little more coverage and more matte than the others on the market, but reading this review I think it sounds just the same. Have you tried any other cushion foundations? Thank you for sharing, I have been so intrigued by this release xxx

It’s definitely not matte, it’s pretty dewy. I have an oily prone skin so I powder my face so it doesn’t look too shiny. I tried the L’oreal cushion foundation and personally, I prefer this one !

I’ve never used a cushion foundation before, but have been seeing them pop up all over with brands releasing their own takes on the Korean concept. I think it’s great that a drugstore brand, such as Maybelline, is offering this; I’ll have to check it out. It seems like a great option for the summer, when you want a little coverage, but don’t want too much product on your face. Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you’re having a great week so far!
