Here in San Francisco, the rain is finally gone, and the sun is shining again. Trees are starting to bloom, announcing the arrival of Spring. Like many others, I’m starting to revive my wardrobe for the upcoming month. One trend that keeps on popping up everywhere is pink. Everywhere I look, I see shades of blush taking over.
As you may know, I’m not a big pink fan. I only have a couple of pieces that fall into that shade range, and both are rather muted. Personally, I find blush and neutral pinks more my style then bright magenta.
Luckily, this season, it’s all about blush pinks! It’s a more sophisticated and mature take on this bright color. Blush pink is suitable for a more traditional office place and a night out. It’s so versatile and easy to style in my opinion. It’s also a universal shade that looks great on everyone, from pale to darker skin types.
Gucci’s SS17 collection back in September was basically a pink take over. Balenciaga & Valentino SS17 collections also highlighted this color. The high street took notes of this trend as well and now pink is everywhere you look. Topshop, Asos, Zara, Reiss, Club Monaco are all on the same trend radar.
So now while you’re starting to transition to Spring, keep pink in mind. Whether you choose a bright magenta or a muted blush, it’s up to you.
