How To Make Bold Colors Wearable

Some people can rock bold colors head to toe, others like me, wearing one striking colored piece seems like risky business. When it comes to bold colors, especially yellow, wearing them casually can be a little tricky. That being said, it’s not impossible to sport these shades, without feeling over the top.

The key to making bold colors, more relaxed, is to style them with a very muted & safe look. They should be the only popping piece of clothing, and the rest of your outfit should simply complement them. Don’t confuse the eye by having too many striking elements in your look. Personally, in all my outfits, I like to have only one dominant, eye-catching element and make the rest complimentary.

When I think casual chic, a pair of jeans and a black leather jacket immediately come to mind. Together they can quiet down the popping colors (or even patterns) and make the outfit look relaxed but yet elegant. For an even more laid-back look, I ditched the heels and chose a pair of black loafers for ultimate comfort.

As we’re still in a transitioning phase, bold bright colors like this yellow shade, are still very wearable. Moving more into Winter, I start shying away from vivid hues, that’s why I’m taking full advantage now and wearing intense yellow, pink…etc.

I always pin your looks. So good! I usually pick one bold color when I wear it too, so I totally agree.

Thanks Kate. I always hesitate when wearing yellow, I don’t think it suits me that much.
