Dressing Like A French Girl

French ladies are the epitome of the term “effortlessly chic”. They embody simple uncomplicated style like no one else. From hair to makeup, to fashion, of course, they’re about the bare minimum, but in an elegant and refined way.

Although French women are extremely feminine, their style is definitely more androgynous. It’s the way they carry themselves that oozes in feminity, not the tight dresses and short skirts. If you’re looking to dress like a French girl, there are some key style points to live by.

Straight Leg Jeans Should be a Wardrobe Staple

Long gone the days of skinny jeans, especially if you’re after that French girl look. Straight leg jeans have a more relaxed fit to them and look much more effortless in general, which is what you’re aiming for. Find a good pair, preferably undistressed and make it your go-to. Style it up or down, with a pair of heels and a blouse or sneakers and tee, it’s going to be an everyday staple.

The Blazer Is Your New BFF

Whether it’s a light linen tee or a thick cashmere sweater, a French girl always layers her outfits with a blazer. Blazers, oversized ones to be precise are everywhere at the moment giving you lots of options to choose from. Although a well-fitted blazer is more flattering, nothing screams androgyny like an oversized jacket.

An Easy Pair Of Heels For All Occasions

When it comes to footwear, your shoes should reflect elegance and comfort at the same time. A French girl wouldn’t wear stilettos on a daily basis, instead, she chooses a comfortable pair of heels that would take her from day to night, without pain. The Chanel slingbacks are the ultimate french girl shoes. They are chic with jeans and cocktail dresses. They give you a little height and confidence boost without compromising comfort and they elevate the simplest looks. Thankfully, you don’t have to break the bank to get that look. Lots of high-street brands have come out with similar more affordable styles like the pair I’m wearing from Mango last seen here but this pair is also a great option and this pair too.

It’s All In The Accessories

When it comes to completing an outfit, the accessories are the cherry on top. Keep your jewelry minimal but make a statement. Choose a classic bag and throw on some big old sunglasses to channel your inner Audrey Hepburn. Leave your hair a little messy; Either wear it down or in a ponytail and ta-da!

You’ve accomplished a French girl look successfully!

I absolutely love this look, Tamara! The blazer is beautiful, I’ve been wanting one like for a while, and it pairs so good with with the Gucci belt. I love that you have it in brown. I haven’t seen it much in brown as opposed to black. I also love these tips you’ve shared on Parisian style. They really do embody that effortlessly chic vibe. Their whole lifestyle, from my understanding, is also quite laid back. My mom works with quite a few Parisians and she always says how laid back there are. I wish that were the lifestyle here in the U.S., haha. Anyway, thanks for sharing, babe, and I hope you’re having a great week so far!
