Friday Favorites V.1

Instead of dedicating a whole video for my monthly favorites over on my Youtube channel, I decided to have a weekly smaller installments of favorites here on the blog. That way they are shorter and sweeter.

This week I have been playing around with new makeup again and have fallen in love with a couple bits that I think you’d love them as well.

Makeup

The Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink liquid lipstick. They weren’t kidding about the “Super Stay” name. This liquid lipstick has some amazing staying power. I actually did a wear test earlier in the week on my Instagram Stories and it wore really wore. It faded a little inside the mouth, but that’s to be expected after 6 hours + and eating and drinking. The only negative is, this lipstick is too “Super Stay”. It was practically impossible to take off, even with coconut oil. I had to scrub my lips very hard to remove it and woke up the next day with little residue left on my lips. The shade Dancer is gorgeous!

Next up is another lipstick and it’s the YSL Volupté Plump-in-Color Plumping Lip Balm. Wow! That’s a long name! But these lipsticks are so beautiful on the lips. Super hydrating as they are infused with hyaluronic acid and coconut oil. The peppermint oil infusion in the shape of a heart in the middle gives a slight tingling effect, but nothing too crazy. I love the high shine formula, making your lips look very kissable. Although the staying power isn’t as long as a liquid lipstick, I love that they leave behind a tint to the lips.

Fashion

I have been challenging myself to a whole week’s of outfits without jeans. If you know me, you know how hard that is for me but it’s going well. Make sure you check out this week’s What I Wore This Week that’s going to be live on Sunday to see all the outfits from this week. But one outfit in particular that I really liked is

Books

I finishe reading Educated by Tara Westover and Oh my! what an intense gut-wrenching book! It’s a true story which makes it even more agonizing. The things she had to endure and the fact that so many others go through the same hardships is beyond belief. Give it a read!

Music

I mentioned in my recent post that I like listening to music when working to keep me entertained and motivated. One playlist I have been listening to on repeat, whether I’m working, just chilling or spending some quality time with the Mr. *wink wink* is Love, Sex & Water on Spotify. And the song I listen to the most over and over again is Shea Butter by feat. J Cole. If you bump into me on streets in the next few ays, chances are I’m humming this song!

I do love that stay on lipstick….I have it in two different colors now because it’s annoying to me to have to reapply!!
Good job with the no jeans…I should try that too.
