Last week I received the BeautyCon Spring Box, curated by Bunny also known as “Grav3yardgirl”. Even though I was already familiar with the products included in the box (from friends who received their box before me), I was nonetheless excited to open it up and play around with them.
Grav3yardgirl is known for her eccentric and a little goth look. She has a hugely successful youtube channel with more than 6 million followers. She loves collecting vintage dolls, especially those that are imperfect, to remind herself that beauty is in the imperfections.
In this season’s box there is the following:Garnier Skinactive Purifying oil-free cleansing towelettes, Maybelline The Rock Nudes eyeshadow palette(full size), NYX Matte Finish setting spray (full size), Benefit They’re Real Mascara (sample), Beauty Blender Micro.Mini (full size, pack of 2), Murad Essential-C Day Moisture (sample), GlamGlow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment (sample), Pacifica Power Of Love Natural lipstick (I previously received in an Ipsy bag and absolutely hated it), 4 hair ties, nail art strips (a bit too extreme fro my taste), a creepy doll keychain and a Dolls Kills $20 gift card.
All in all, there wasn’t anything really impressive in this box, at least not to me. The box seemed a little average, the only thing that was a little exciting is the GlamGlow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment. Yes, I get excited about a mud face treatment, welcome to my mid 20’s! Other than that, I already threw away the Pacifica lipstick, the nail art strips and the doll keychain. As for the rest of the products, I already swatched the Maybelline The Rock Nudes palette. Some eyeshadows were swatched good, others were chalky, but I’ll have to test out properly before making up my mind. I’ll also have to play around with the rest of the products before reviewing them.
Even though Grav3yardgirl is known to be eccentric and full of surprises, her box unfortunately wasn’t. Hopefully the BeautyCon summer box is going to be more exciting than the spring box. Well, I’ll have to wait 3 months to see…
Are you subscribed to the BeautyCon box or any other beauty box/bag subscription? What are your thoughts on them?
