As you know from my previous post (read here), the Mr. & I spent a couple of days in Lake Tahoe last week. When we first saw how gorgeous the sunset was by the lake, we made sure to catch it one last time.
Lake Tahoe is situated on the California and Nevada border, and because the first time we watched it from California side, we decided to check what the Nevada side has to offer. Even though there only 5 mins away, the Nevada Beach was significantly less crowded than the California side.
As we were stuffed from lunch, we kept the picnic simple. Sparkling wine and some freshly cut fruits, a favorite combo of mine.
We nested underneath a huge pine tree, on a picnic table overlooking one of the most beautiful views you could ever wish for. Even the most expensive restaurants with the most amazing views can’t quite rival this one. Mountains covered in pines on one side and a glittering lake on the other.
For this intimate afternoon, I decided to wear an old strapless red maxi dress that I had in my closet for years. Even though it’s an old buy, every summer I wear it a few times and every summer it seems that it’s still on trend.
I absolutely love the rich red color of red maxi. It’s extremely vibrant and deep, which works great with my summer tan.
I’m a big fan of sweetheart neckline, especially on strapless dresses. It’s much more faltering than straight neckline exceptionally for smaller chested ladies.
We sipped our glasses to the last drop as we watched the sun set behind the tall mountains. The Lake, reflecting all the beautiful colors of the sunset, looked like lava. The tide was coming in and the air was getting colder. We waited until the last ray of light disappeared in the sky before leaving.
Here’s some of my favorite red summer maxi dresses:
I wish you all a great weekend! Always remember to be kind to one another 🙂
