From time to time, life gets hectic and we feel the need to take a step back and unwind.
That’s what R & I did this past weekend.
We decided to treat ourselves to a little R & R time at the beautiful Solage Resort & Spa in Calistoga. Although we’re kind of seasoned veterans when it comes to Napa, Calistoga was a whole new playground for us to discover.
Situated in the most beautiful natural scenery, Solage Resort & Spa is the perfect location for a zen and relaxing getaway. Surrounded by gorgeous vineyards, it’s a hop away from the finest wineries & chateaux of the area.
The rooms are individual cabins that make you feel right at home. With amazing views, your own chimney and the most comfortable bedding, it’s truly hard to leave the room.
But don’t slack, there’s a lot to do!
It’s safe to say that we spent the stay in our robes. So fluffy and warm, they were the perfect attire for a weekend of relaxation.
Although the temperature got pretty low, the geo-thermal pools warmed our bodies and soul. Don’t be saddened if you only brought your birthday suits. Separate pools are available for the “free-er” souls. Leave your worries and clothes at the door, and let your body and mind be completely free .
Time slipped by as our worries floated away. Quicker than we knew it, it was time for dinner. Not just any dinner though, we were in for a treat! R & I were invited to a chef’s tasting curated by Chef Brad Cecchi and wine paired carefully by Scott Turnbul.
The seven course dinner at the michelin-stared Solbar was truly exceptional. Each course and each bite was a celebration to our palettes.
The wine was paired superbly with each plate. It was a completely faultless experience. Sommelier Joey Scanlon also did an outstanding job explaining the notes of each wine.
We could have asked for a better end of a truly indulging day. If you’re looking for an unforgettable getaway, I highly recommend Solage Resort & Spa. For more info check the website here, and for reservations click here.
Thank you Solage Resort & Spa for sponsoring our stay.
