Weekends and brunches go hand in hand, just like peanut butter and jelly. Having a Sunday brunch, in particular, is the epitome of a good San Franciscan! Every Sunday, lineups start to form in front of restaurants and cafe of hungry folks willing to spend hours in line, to brunch. Luckily, with a click of a botton, we reserved beforehand for our Sunday brunch at Marlowe.
Sweater Zara sold out similar here, here & here, Jeans Asos, Beret Urban Outfitters, Boots Mango last season
After wanting to try Marlowe ever since we moved to SF, we finally did. It was a pre-birthday brunch as my birthday is today and brunch isn’t a Monday thing… Admittedly we arrived at a time more appropriate for lunch, but we still got the taste the brunch menu.
Staring with some deviled eggs. Not the best we’ve ever had but great little bites to teasing your appetite.
Followed by half a dozen of delicious Fanny Bay raw oysters, served chilled. The oysters were absolutely delicious, giving us a taste of the ocean with each slurp!
We then moved to our mains. Always in the middle, as we like to share. We started with the Huevos Rancheros. Made with a black bean puree, chorizo, corn tortilla, tomato salsa, cheese and a cilantro creme and topped with perfectly runny eggs. It was the perfect twist on the Mexican classic.
The second dish was a fried chicken sandwich, accompanied by the crispiest fries. With each bite the chicken’s crust would crunch under our teeth, opening up to the juiciest chicken. It was topped with a bacon and a tangy mix of greens, it was perfectly balanced.
Unfortunately, by the time we finished our food, the kitchen had already switched from the brunch menu. That meant we couldn’t taste the delicious looking doughnuts we’ve been eyeing from the table next to us. But at least, that gave us a reason to come back to Marlowe very soon!
Reserve here.
PS: I’m going to be unboxing a very exciting purchase on my Instagram Stories (@loveofmode_) later today. If you’re a fan of luxury fashion and bags, you wouldn’t want to miss it!
