Life seems to be passing us so quickly lately. Between our jobs, families and social lives, we sometimes find ourselves caught up in a mundane routine. We’re so consumed by our day to day lives that we forget to stop and smell the roses along the way. On our way to Montreal for a mini vacation, R & I chose a random exit midway, in the middle of nowhere, and ended up in the cutest little town. We’ve taken the drive from Toronto to Montreal many times before but never have we visited the towns along the way.
It was a little farming town, decorated with cute houses and endless luscious fields. Some were planted with corn, others took over by wild wheat and flowers. Along the edges, dense forests hugged the town with a thick green belt. There was a park in the middle of the town with a whiteboard gazebo, just like in the movies.
The freshest air hit our faces as soon as we stepped out of the car. The city’s smell we’ve grown used to was immediately replaced by the smell of wildflowers. Honking was replaced by the singing birds in the distance and the buzzing bees that welcomed us. We were in heaven.
Although it was only a small stop, we felt so refreshed and energized afterward. Not only we got to be closer to nature again, but we’ve also got to know a town that we’ve always passed by, not noticing its beauty. So today, I urge you to take a small detour from your normal path, and take a few moments to get lost somewhere new.

Honestly, I don’t even remember the name of the town as we stopped pretty randomly.
