This year was definitely the year of the “retro” in the fashion world. It seems that every retro trend has come back in style in 2018, from the chunky sneakers, super pointy shoes and many more. To end the year with a retro bang, the 80’s sequined dress style is the hottest for NYE! Minus the big hair.
Sequins have taken over the shops, this festive season, accompanied with big shoulders, to remind us all of the crazy time that was the 80’s! For all of us 90’s kids, it’s a great way to live that decade that we heard (and saw) so much about.
Zara is definitely killing the sequined dress game, this little black number is from there. The shape and cut it very YSL style which immediately drew me to it. As it is a NYE look, I wanted to go all out with the sparkles. At the end of the day if you can’t look like a disco ball on NYE, when can you? So I paired the dress with these fun sparkly fishnet stockings with diamante on them for extra bling.
Are you going to go all out this NYE and embrace the sequined dress trend? or are you going to keep it classic? Let me know.
Happy Holidays!
Tamara
You look stunning Tamara!! I don’t have plans for New Years yet! I was hoping to come back to Toronto like last year but no one could or wanted to go with me! Hopefully I’ll find something!
