Every once in a while I find myself crushing over a new brand or two. Although it’s more of window shopping crush, I still like to browse online shops, like Net a Porter, Mytheresa, Farfetch… etc. I just love the wide range of designers they carry, and by just browsing, I can get lots of inspiration for my upcoming outfits.
I’m currently in a summery mindset (although the weather is not yet) and in the midst of vacation prep to Europe, Portugal, the French & Italian Riviera to be precise. And while getting inspo for my vacay outfits, I find myself lusting over two brands in particular.
Is there any brand that embodied the French Riviera vibe more than Jacquemus? I think not. With the extremely tiny bags and over-exaggerated fringing, Jacquemus has quickly become the “IT” summer brand. Very feminine silhouettes with a daring twist, designed minimally are what set this brand apart. It’s sultry without trying too hard. There is a certain nonchalant sense to its designs that makes it the perfect summery brand. In true French Riviera fashion, the color palette is mostly neutrals, whites and beiges in particular with a little bit of color thrown in here and there.
Contrary to Jacquemus, Ulla Johnson is not a minimal label. With the boho California style, dramatic designs and lots of beautiful prints, every single piece from this brand is a statement by itself. Still very feminine, Ulla Johnson plays a lot with the looser fit of the pieces and the movement of the fabric. The boho California style continues through the earthy color palette of the brand. This brand is for the modern, elegant yet edgy woman, that’s not afraid of print.
If you’ve been obsessing over these brands for a while like me, the current sales are the best time to try to treat yourself with a piece or two from these brands. I cheekily snagged these sandals from Jacquemus at an amazing price and really think of getting this dress as well for Monte Carlo next month. What do you guys think?
What brands are on your radar at the moment? Is there a particular label you’ve been lusting over recently? Tell me!
